The Delay Clock

A PCR-owned metric: how many days the card market takes to react once a hitting prospect's bat catches fire. Built from PCR's own daily snapshots — game logs and BC 1st auto prices — so it re-measures every morning.

Days from streak to price move

Who's overdue right now

Mid-streak hitters whose card hasn't moved yet. Past the -day median, the market is officially late by its own pace.

Cooling off

The inverse signal — hitters whose bat has gone cold while the card price hasn't come down to match. A sell-side read, not a buy.

How the math works. For every hitter in the Top 400 with a recent game log, we walk the season day by day and flag a hot streak when their trailing-15-game wOBA runs ahead of their own season baseline by 60 points and clears a .380 absolute floor. We then look at the card price history from that streak's first day and find the first move of 7% or more. The gap in days between the two is the reaction delay.

"Overdue" means past the median. The dot for a current streak turns amber when its days-waiting count exceeds the historical median. It is not a buy signal — it's a "the market is later than usual" signal. Treat as one input.
